An Seisiún Mór (The Big Session) brings the heart and soul of the Irish pub Traditional Music and Songs session to the big stage for one unforgettable night of music, song, dance, and culture.

​

Inspired by the lively sessions in Sydney’s traditional Irish music scene, this event captures the spontaneity, warmth, and shared joy that define Irish musical gatherings. The show comprises of 18 talented artists, across multiple genres of Irish traditional musician/songs, dancing and Gaeilge (Irish Language).

​

Led by some of Sydney’s finest Irish traditional groups — The Comhaltas Sydney Céilí Band and Celtic Tones, and joined on stage by special guests from Sydney’s Irish Traditional Music Session scene. The event brings the magic of the true Irish session to the big stage. Tunes flow freely, songs rise naturally, and dancers step out whenever the spirit takes them.

This is a celebration of Irish culture in all its richness:

· Traditional music played with energy and authenticity

· Songs that carry stories, humour, and heart

· Irish dancing that lifts the venue

· Irish language woven throughout the night, connecting us to heritage and community
