Sydney St Patrick's Day Parade & Festival 2026

Where and when does the parade start?

Kicking off at 11am, the parade will begin on Pitt Street near Martin Place

Where is the Sydney St Patrick's Day Festival held?

This free festival will be held in The Rocks from 11am – 6pm on Sunday 15th March 2026. The main areas will include  First Fleet Park, MCA Lawn and Bligh & Barney Reserve.

Is the festival just on Sunday?

While the main parade & festival itself is just taking place on Sunday, the festival is running over a number days. We welcome back our free Movie Night on Thursday 12th March - a continuation of The Rocks Laneway Cinema with a free screening of Sing Street (registrations will open soon) as well as event on Saturday Night in First Fleet Park, “An Seisiún Mór”

Is First Fleet Park 18+ only?

No, this year ALL AREAS are open to all ages including main stage in First Fleet Park and rest of the festival space which includes the Children’s Area, art and craft tent, Irish dance performance stage, live music performances and much more.

Who is the festival for?

Everyone’s welcome.  The festival is a family fun day celebrating Irish culture and heritage but you don’t have to be Irish to attend or enjoy the festival.

Do I need to book a ticket?

No, the festival is free and no tickets are required. We do recommend arriving early especially if you intend to visit First Fleet Park.

How do I know what’s happening and when?

Here’s the full Festival Line-up. It’s also included in the festival booklet which will be handed out on the day and is available on our website.

How do I know where everything is happening?

What stalls will be there over the weekend?

We have the very best of Irish food, craft and gift as well as the SSPD Merchandise tent. For a full list of stalls, click here (updating soon) 

What happens if it rains? 

The festival will go ahead as planned. Come prepared i.e. with umbrellas and rain jackets. A little bit of rain is not enough to stop us celebrating the biggest day of the year.

What is the best way to get to the festival?

Is there parking?

There are several secure, conveniently located parking stations in The Rocks.

Can I bring my own alcohol into the festival?

There is no BYO alcohol allowed. There will be bag searches at the gate. The full event is licensed in all areas  and there is a bar on site.

Can I bring a picnic blanket or my own chair?

There will be lots of seating and picnic blankets are welcome.

What entertainment will there be for children?

Lots! Face painting, art and craft tent, music lessons, Irish dance performances and more. There will also be some special guests roaming throughout the day.
